Discord post but it's a forum post, idk

What is a song that is probably in your top 100 songs of all time that comes from a source you would absolutely not expect? Whether that means a band that is out of left field for you, maybe a genre you don't otherwise do much in, whatever.

My example/submission is Tried And True by Ween. I am not big into Ween, and I feel like you are either BIG on Ween, big on that ONE Ween song, or you don't give a shit about Ween. I appreciate their music for what it is, but Tried and True... it takes me to another dimension. I have been obsessed with this song for over a decade now. It just has to come up every season.

Okay I've been pondering this a bunch because I would say (pinky raised) that my music taste is pretty eclectic so I don't know that there's one thing that wouldn't fit besides country and pop, neither of which I have songs that are in my top 100 that just aren't my style. That said, I think my response has to be the Pippin Musical Original Broadway Cast Recording (I know it's not a single song but it's probably in my top 100 albums right now). I am not at all a musical theater buff, I don't listen to Hamilton on repeat for hours on end, musicals aren't really what I consider "passive listening" music. But Pippin is a musical that has a lot of history for me - my dad owned a DVD copy of one of the recordings; he took my brother to a performance of it while I was in college; he also transcribed by hand one of the music pieces because we couldn't find the score for it for me to play on piano. I remember watching the performance with my family and my dad and I referencing quotes in conversations. I think the score is wonderful and I guess that would make it my aberration.
