As if the run couldn't get any wackier:

For those without context, I'd say OoT is by and large the strangers, least easily describable popular speedrun around today, it's an absolute hoot to watch: youtu.be/3_beDqpmnpo

Games like OoT and M64 show that if enough people try to break a specific piece of software over a long enough period of time, they will accidentally unlock the secrets of the universe that were never in the game to begin with.

"Yeah so this new tech lets you bunny hop straight through the out of bounds chasm and overflows your launch speed as soon as you touch the ground. And if you pan the camera to the right you will see the day that you will die, but that's just an optional swagstrat."

Honestly it's just more ammunition for the "life is a simulation" school of thought

How do you think I get to work so fast? If I roll into the wall exactly three pixels to the right of my bedside table, I fall out of bounds, witness eternity, and come out of the loading screen at my desk.

Oh you're a bedside table roll skipper? BTR skip is good when you can land it but it has some real problems with consistency.

I've managed to get a version of Job that forgoes any commute-skip methods entirely since it doesn't require leaving my house to get to my work desk. Saves a lot of effort developing outside (or even OOB) movement tech.

A continues series of breakthroughs have occurred related to Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE) which results in players executing a specific set of steps to jump them to the end credits.

For the last few weeks the boundary has been pushed from sub 12 to sub 11 to nearing 10. Today it was run sub 9:30:

EZScape is a great speedrun content youtuber. Talks about the OoT stuff, as well as big M64 payouts and more in his latest video:
