I just finished rewatching the entire series at work. It makes me sad - I want to like it - I really do. The writing just feels so blaaah and I don't know why.
I love the setting, I guess. All the characters I liked most are dead or no longer relevant. The shock factor of the ludicrous weapons is starting to lose its punch now that everything is just shrugged off as magic.

I wanna know what other Swamplings think, though. Who's watched the show? What do you think?

Its a show I enjoy watching, but it's not an amazing show. It is literally the first OC, full-scale animation made by a non animation studio. I think you shouldn't try to like things. If you don't like it I think you should move on. Honestly, I usually just binge the whole thing at the end of the season anyways, it helps with the cliffhanger that they insistently wedge into the end of every episode.

Also, there isn't a lot of mystery left in the show which is probably a bit deflating as far as interest goes.

I would exercise caution with this sentiment. Trying to like things is how you expand your horizons and your tolerance for "the other", but I agree the arbitrary cliffhangers seem a bit lazy.

And I thrive on background more like the whole Gods Among Us thing they pulled. All the characters we are supposed to expect to save the world feel very meh, very safe. And I don't care for it.

I don't really have trouble enjoying most things with other people, whether or not they are things I would get into on my own. Plus, differences in taste are important. I would hate to hang out with someone who had my exact taste in everything :P

Is this why we never get ramen anymore? .___.

Well its not like we get the same ramen...everytime... But seriously, I was actually going to ask this weekend if you and Brennan wanted to get ramen lol.
