Any thoughts on the new Nintendo console? I heard there has been some issues with drift on the controllers. I borrowed a friend's regular Switch and played through BOTW and really liked it. Just not sure if it's worth the $200.

I thought they had a good thing going with the separate line of handhelds, but it makes sense with the new Pokemon game coming out- it looks like it will still be a glorified handheld game, so might as well throw it on a "specifically handheld" system.
But the drop in functionality for the savings is pretty significant. Essentially it makes it difficult to use the Switch in any sort of split screen mode, which is one of the draws of the types of games published for Nintendo consoles, right?
Yea I'd have to say that I personally wouldn't want the Lite. The OG itself is already fairly portable, and does lend itself to some great local co-op as @MisterPookie mentions. Additionally I'm sure battery life is hit, and you probably don't get the same plug-into-your-TV functionality (which is one of the things we like the most).
That said, getting the big bumba switch wouldn't be a mistake - we absolutely love ours and use it almost every night.
The switch lite has better battery life if anything. It is running a smaller screen and has the newer processor in it which is higher energy efficiency.
The switch lite is more for people like me, who would only be using it on like road trips or a plane anyways so local multiplayer really isn't a necessity or even a feature. And honestly, if I am home, I am going to be on my computer not on a console.

And yea according to this random article apparently it does have longer life! Kind of surprising, I expected
larger box == larger battery == longer life.I didn't think of size, that is a good point. But yeah I think cutting down the screen size and taking out a lot of sensors and antenna is significant and I think the battery itself might be the same as the switch battery.
SwampetteDiet Cherry Switch Zero Sugar defeats the purpose for me. My wife and I like being able to seamlessly change from a TV console to a handheld when we have to share the TV - taking that away removes the primary functionality I don't get anywhere else.
