Okay I don't care that much but this is a good story.

Seattle are down by 9 to the undefeated Houston Oils things in one of the best games of the season. But- Houston has the ball with just seconds left on the clock on 4th down. All they need to do is burn 5 seconds off the clock, do something to end the play like throw it out of bounds or kneel, and they win.

So what happens: Houston hikes the ball, and the QB takes a knee while there are 2 seconds left on the clock. On 4th down, this means the clock stops and now Seattle has the ball, in this case, with just 20 yards to the end zone, where, with a 3-point conversion, they could tie the game. Big oops on Houston. Bigger oops on the booth because- they don't stop the clock. They let it run out. The game is over. The announcers and many people at home are screaming "UH, THIS GAME AIN'T OVER YET, GET BACK ON THE FIELD?" The refs head to the locker room and basically say "yeah, there were two seconds left, but we were told to call the game, so it's over."

This is amateur hour. A bad look for a burgeoning league. The memes start flooding in:

But, in a very non-NFL move, the XFL officially comes forward just an hour or so later with this:

Damn Wes, have fun officiating high school games, I guess.

Anyway, probably the "biggest" controversy of the league so far, interesting to watch it play out. Dragons still kinda suck tho
